My Personal Health Goals

healthy-living-woman

If you’ve checked out the www.noblerexk1health.com site, you probably already know there is an abundance of benefits exercise on the Noblerex K1 can provide.  I am not just talking anecdotal, nice-to-haves either.  The vast majority of them have been shown in research studies.  Just type in Whole Body Vibration on pubmed.com and you’ll see too.  Here are just a few of them again:

  • Builds muscle strength, stamina, and tone
  • Increases flexibility and range of motion
  • Enhances balance and coordination
  • Reduces soreness by washing out lactic acid build-up
  • Strengthens and enhances core muscles and posture
  • Reduces training time–60 minute total body workout in 10 minutes
  • Decreases healing time from future injuries
  • Warms up the muscles before a performance
  • Massages muscles
  • Raises resting metabolism
  • Helps breakdown fat and cellulite
  • Improves skin quality with improved circulation and toning of muscles and reduces the appearance of varicose veins
  • Improves collagen production (hello face lift!)
  • Reduces back and joint pain
  • Decreases blood pressure
  • Improves digestion and bowel movement regularity
  • Assists in ongoing detoxification
  • Increased feeling of overall well-being and energy
  • Increases circulation and blood oxygenation
  • Stimulates and flushes the lymphatic system
  • Improves proprioception (sense of the relative position of parts of the body)
  • Stimulates and redevelops the neuromuscular system
  • Builds bone mass and bone mineral density– combating osteoporosis
  • Is used in many different rehabilitative capacities
  • Reduces and prevents muscle atrophy
  • Provides a low impact workout suitable for beginners as well as hard-core fitness enthusiasts
  • Boosts production of Human Growth Hormone
  • Reduces cortisol levels (stress hormone)
  • Elevates serotonin levels (the “happy” neurotransmitter)
  • Activates reflexology points on the bottom of the feet

Okay, I kid—that was practically all of them!  But if you’re anything like me, a bunch of these benefits really spoke to me.  These are benefits that I’ve had a challenge achieving on my own with traditional/conventional exercise.  I’m one of those people who LOVES to exercise.  I have had a gym membership for as long as I can remember, maybe since I was 19?  I love cardio and weight training.  I’ve had personal trainers and yoga studio memberships.  I love spin classes, cardio kickboxing, yoga, pilates, weight training and sculpting classes at the gym, etc.  Did I mention I love to run and bike all over the city?  I probably exercise 5-6 days a week doing a variety of things yet I’ve had a lot of challenge in getting to a lower body fat percentage and in getting more toned.   At 5’2 my weight is about 102 (it can fluctuate 1-2 lbs) and my body fat percentage last time I checked was 23% (using the gym’s handhelp OMRON body fat meter).  I think this is way too high and I can see it too!  I’m 27 years old and in great shape but I’ve been at 15% body fat before so I know I can do better!

So today I’d love to share with you some of my health goals and areas of improvement I plan on seeing reached with a 90 Day Challenge (more on this in the next post!):

  1. Lower body fat percentage: I’m aiming for 17%.  I don’t really care about my weight.  If I put on a few pounds of muscle, great!
  2. Improved muscle tone.
  3. Reduction of cellulite—there is some dimpling my thighs and butt
  4. Improving my circulation.  The last time I went to my naturopath, she mentioned I had poor circulation.  I also feel a weird tingling in my hands and under arms sometimes…
  5. Balancing my hormones.  My hormones have always been a bit off.  I’ve been on birth control for about ten years now because when I go off them, my period gets pretty irregular.
  6. Be happier MORE.  With an increase in serotonin, why not? It’s good to feel good!
  7. Reduce my back and neck pain.  I frequently go to an acupuncturist to work on my back, neck, and shoulders.  This is most likely from being at the computer most of the day.
  8. Improved skin.  I’d also like to experience some sort of visible youthening effect.  I am expecting something with the increased Human Growth Hormone being produced by me.
  9. Less stress.   Enough said :)
  10. Appetite Control (I can get pretty ravenous!)  I think the increased oxygenation and serotonin will help here.
  11. Improve bladder control.  I don’t suffer from incontinence or anything, but I usually have to go to the bathroom pretty often.  I’m not sure if this 90 day challenge will help, but I am thinking it will.
  12. Better/less sleep.  The increased exercise (for ALL my muscles) and HGH should help here.
  13. Improved digestion.
  14. More friends.  Just kidding!

Wow, that seems like a lot!  Currently, I am already a very healthy person with a good diet and a good level of fitness, but I’m a good example of all of you out there looking for a real EDGE to reach their goals and even their competition.  I think that it will be easier to see toning and shaping results on my too beeause I’m already in decent shape se this will be a fun experiment.  The Noblerex K-1 is going to be that EDGE for me and others and I can’t wait to start this challenge!
